All Special Attacks In Claymore

Claymore use a relatively small number of named attacks compared to fighters in other anime, and those who possess a unique technique tend to be more powerful than other Claymores. Attacks are developed by training and/or release of Yoki. Here is the list of all known techniques in Claymore:

Offensive Techniques

Blade of Evil
Users: Uranus, Roxanne
Usage: The Blade of Evil style involves utilizing every part of the claymore, including the hilt and cross-guard, in attacking the opponent. Uranus created it to compensate for her lack of speed and physical strength when fighting stronger opponents. Her area had a lot of Awakened Beings, and this sword style was her means of survival.

Double Sword Style
Users: Undine, Deneve
Usage: Undine constantly releases her yoki to enhance her muscles, giving her monstrous strength and allowing for the use of two swords. Releasing yoki also gives Undine the bulky appearance she needed to get the Organization's approval in having two swords.

Drill Sword
Users: Jean, Helen,Teresa
Usage: Jean's trademark technique which involves winding up her arm for a total of 21 rotations. As she attacks, her arm unwinds, spinning the blade in her hand. It is described that the Drill Sword as the attack with the most striking power and velocity among all techniques in the present generation Claymores. The attack was strong enough to pierce Awakened Beings with incredibly tough armor and even hard rock.

Dust Eater
User: Cassandra,Teresa
Usage: Dust Eater is a strange-looking technique that requires anchoring both feet to the ground and then moving the user's head like a pendulum. Using centrifugal force, the body is swung very close to the ground and the user attacks from this unusual angle, immobilizing the foe by hacking of all limbs.

Elegance
User: Hysteria
Usage: The Elegance used by Hysteria is considered to be the most beautiful technique of all warriors. This ability is similar to the Phantom Mirage, requires a brief burst of Yoki to greatly increase speed. It is an offensive technique as it involves stepping forward, slipping past an opponent's side, and then moving behind them in order to strike. The proximity of the after-image is such that it appears as if the user had slipped through her opponent's body.

Quicksword
User: Irene, Clare,Teresa
Usage: It is one of the most powerful techniques in the Claymore universe. The Quicksword is performed by channeling all yoki into one arm, letting that arm Awaken. The end result is a barrage of strikes too fast to follow, which can take down the most skilled of opponents, and at the same time it provides a nearly impenetrable defense.

Rippling Sword
User: Ophelia, Teresa
Usage: Ophelia uses the flexible quality of her body to vibrate and undulate her sword, making it resemble a rippling snake. This illusion makes her blows almost impossible to anticipate or block, though Irene was shown to be able to easily deflect them with the Quicksword.

Sensory Control
User: Raftela
Usage: While focusing her yoki throughout her body, Raftela can blur an opponent's vision and "dive into the confused minds of her opponents, and then amplify and send the opponent into a state of insanity, at the deep thoughts sleeping inside her opponent's heart." As a result, the target hallucinates and becomes delirious.

Shadow Hunter
User: Nina
Usage: Once Nina releases the technique, her blade follows a target's yoki, moving and slashing continuously until the yoki is extinguished. The technique, however, leaves the user open for attacks. As such, Nina requires an ample and competent backup force to protect her while the technique is active.

Strong Sword
User: Rachel
Usage: The attack involves the user digging her sword into the ground, building up potential energy, and then releasing the strike. The end result is a slash with much greater power and speed than normally possible.

Windcutter
Users: Flora, Clare,Teresa
Usage: A light-speed attack created by Windcutter Flora in which the user draws her sword, slashes and resheaths her sword in an instant. While slower than the Quicksword, it is more accurate and fundamentally requires no Yoki to perform, allowing the user to perform continuously without tiring.

Defensive Techniques

Acute Yoki Sensing
Users: Teresa, Clare
Usage: Acute Yoki Sensing is a special ability which everyone being part or even full Yoma posses. It deals with sensing the energy of the Yoma, the flow of it and can be useful to track the movements of whereabouts of certain Yoma or Warriors. It also Involves sensing the flow, size and movement of Yoki within a Yoma or Claymore, thus giving the user the ability to predict attacks and defend accordingly.

Yoki Manipulation
User: Galatea, Clare, Cynthia, Yuma, Renée, Jean
Usage: There are many types of Yoki Manipulation :
  • The first type: The user can manipulate the yoki of his or her opponents. The user can distort their focus, changing the direction of incoming attacks. This type is used by Galatea, Clare, Jean and the Yoki manipulating Awakened Being.
  • The second type: This type involves manipulating the yoki of the user or other Claymores to aid with regeneration and healing. This type is used by Cynthia, Yuma and Clare.
  • The third type: This type is actually part of the first but it's more advanced. The user uses his or her yoki to enter the mind of the opponent and uses this to awaken it or reform its shape, to transfer or erase memories. This type is used by Clare, Galatea, Renee, Raftela, Rafaela and Clarice.
  • The fourth type: The user synchronizes with and then manipulates the opponent's yoki to completely erase the user's presence. This type of Yoki Manipulation is a kind of blend of standard Yoki Manipulation, Yoki Synchronization, and Sensory Control. This type is used by Roxanne.

Techniques Classified as Both Offensive and Defensive

Gentle Sword
User: Audrey
Usage: The technique allows the user to deflect and redirect attacks to any direction she chooses. The user herself does not directly oppose the force of the redirected blow but instead uses the opponent's force against them. The technique can be used purely as a defensive measure as well as in an offensive manner.

Phantom Mirage
User: Miria,Teresa
Usage: Miria's signature move involves the release of an exceptionally brief and intense burst of Yoki, letting her move so fast that afterimages remain in her adversary's vision. The Phantom Mirage is limited to 20-30 uses in a fight, due to intense strain on mind and body.

Soul Link
Users: Luciela and Rafaela (failed attempt), Alicia and Beth, unnamed twin trainees and Miata, Galatea and Clarice
Usage: Two Claymores align their Yoki so that one can entrust her soul to the other, allowing her to fight as an Awakened Being without losing her humanity. She can revert to being human after the battle when the soul is released back into her body.

Winged Technique
User: Anastasia
Usage: This unnamed technique was created by Winged Anastasia and requires her to surround the area with strands of her hair like clotheslines. Although they cannot restrict opponents' movements, the strands are strong enough to support a single person's weight, allowing Anastasia to stand on or leap from them and manuever through the air as if she was capable of flight.

Unit 9 In Active Raid

Unit 9 is one of the police force in Active Raid anime. The members of this team are: Kyoukai Sama  As a mechanic and operator of Unit 9, he handles decisions. In some cases, He also conducts on-site surveys. Like Kyoukai, they are dispatched from the association, but they do not seem to know each other's names. He is also in charge of narration for Unit 9 commercials. He also uses the pseudonym " Owashi Joe ". Asami Kazari A new member in Unit 8, she was assigned to monitor Unit 8 due to their bad reputation, and possibly to take steps in improving their activities. Unit 8 is a police unit that is authorized to use Will Wears and the ACTIVE system. Due to their collateral damage of city infrastructure, Unit 8 has a bad reputation within the police force and public media.
