7 Long-Forgotten Memories Of Dinosaucers

Dinosaucers is one of old western animation that I still vaguely remember. It actually escapes my memory until I found it again on the Internet, bringing back the joyful memories. I include it in an anime blog just because it is still worth to watch and obviously entertains the audience, especially kids. If you have watched the show or have the desire to watch, I try to give you the highlights that I still remember to easily picture the story in your mind.

Dinosaucers
The show follows the story of Dinosaucers and their battles against Tyrannos. Each group is composed of intelligent dinosaurs species. The two groups originally come from a planet known as Reptilon. On earth, The Dinosaucers are also allied with four humans known as the Secret Scouts. I had never watched anime with many characters at once at that time, which is somehow amazed me. That thing combined with the dinosaurs theme in this series certainly made my days, though not in all episodes they gather as the big groups.

Headquarters
Both groups in this series have a central base of operations. The Dinosaucers' base is called Lava Dome and is located in a volcano while the Tyrannos' base is located under a tar pit. The reason why they chose the locations as their base is unknown. What I remember is that they clearly have the best secret headquarters and I thought it was real.

Space Ships
It is imprinted in my head that each group has space ships in which they can travel and do battle. Most ships actually resemble their respective owners. However, Teryx and Terrible Dactyl do not posses ones as they can fly on their own. Along with their individual ships, both groups have a large mothership as well, stored inside of their base.

Dinovolving
All the Dinosaucers have a button on the front of their uniforms which instantly devolves them to their primitive ancestors dinosaur state, while retaining their intelligence and speech capacity. This special ability is called Dinovolving and initially appeared to be a significant element of the series. But as the story progress, they use it less often. They do not know most audience were always waiting for their transformation, including me.

Advanced Weapons
The funny thing is Tyrannos don't have the secret of Dinovolving. But they do possess a special raygun called a devolver instead. Blasting a living creature with this weapon has the same effect as Dinovolving, but reduces the victim's intelligence. For those from Reptilon the form is that of a normal dinosaur while humans get reverted to primitive cavemen. The Tyrannos also possess a weapon called a fossilizer, which is capable of turning its target into stone, as well as reversing the condition.

Home Planet
A brief explanation about the Dinosaucers and the Tyrannos home planet, Reptilon, is very interesting to discuss. While the dinosaurs on Earth died out millions of years ago, on Reptilon they continued to thrive and evolve. Though the planet has not been destroyed, it is dangerously low in resources. It once had a supply of the element the Dinosaucers called Dinocium, which Earth has only recently discovered. It's a crystal used for storing energy like a battery and it's scarcity has contributed to the current energy crisis.

Festivals
To make it understand able for kids, Reptilon shares the same concepts of celebrations and festivals as that of on earth. Some of them include Egg Day which is equivalent to birthday on earth, Snarfling which is some kind of activity involving flashy outfits, and Reptile Fair which is a global event where Reptilons dress up in costume to resemble their ancestors. Reptilon also has its own currency called Dinodollars. And to my surprise, they have a form of card based transaction as well.
