13 Gold Saints In Saint Seiya The Lost Canvas

The Gold Saints are the twelve most powerful Saints of Athena. Every one of them has awakened their 7th sense, which allows them to attain the speed of light. Each Gold Saint is also assigned to a temple named after their corresponding zodiac signs to protect the Sanctuary. All Gold Saints seem to be similar physically and psychologically to those who appeared in the Modern Era.

Aries Shion

Aries Shion is the Aries Gold Saint in the 18th century. He is tranquil and analytical. He is a close friend of Libra Dohko to whom he is often seen talking. He is a descendant of the People from the Lost Continent and is a disciple of Altar Hakurei, and former training partner of Crane Yuzuriha. Previously a passionate student of the lives of Saints of the past through the analysis and repair of their Cloths. Shion is entrusted by Athena with the responsibility of rebuilding Sanctuary and raising the next generation of Saints, appointing him as the highest authority in Sanctuary, granting him the rank of Pope.

• Stardust Revolution: Stardust Revolution is a technique that uses light-speed attacks to create a shower of stars that is fired at the opponent.
• Crystal Wall: The user uses their psychic power to create an impenetrable barrier between themselves and their opponent. All attacks that collide with this wall are returned against the opponent.
• Praesepe Celestial Wave: A technique that fuses all souls around the user into one giant energy sphere, capable of defeating a God.

Taurus Hasgard

Taurus Aldebaran, real name Hasgard, is the Taurus Gold Saint of the 18th century Holy War. He is one of the twelve strongest Saints of the era, and, along with his eleven peers, sacrificed his life during the conflict. The name Aldebaran is borrowed from the name of the brightest star of the Taurus constellation. It is a name passed down to the strongest Taurus Gold Saints and he is said to be the Gold Saint with the fastest attack. Hasgard is also a noble master who treasures his friends and students.

• Great Horn: Technique that consists of a punch at the speed of light which allows him to hit from a distance. The great speed and damage of this technique lies in releasing both fists from a cross-arms stance.
• Titan's Nova: It is the most powerful attack of the Taurus Saint. The Saint places his hand on the ground and sends a wave of cosmos that causes a gigantic earthquake that has the effect of destroying the surroundings of the area

Gemini Aspros

Gemini Aspros is Gemini Defteros' late twin older brother. Once a virtuous Saint, Aspros was executed for plotting against the Sanctuary and wanting to steal Athena's Cloth to rule over Sanctuary. When the brothers reminisce about their past, it is revealed that rumor in Sanctuary had Aspros as the successor of the Pope, however, the latter chose another prospect he considered the fittest. Enraged for having failed in attaining his goal of becoming Pope of the Sanctuary, Aspros violates the sanctity of Star Hill, a place reserved only to the Popes, and steals secrets kept there for ages.

• Another Dimension: Opening a crack in space into an alternate dimension that absorbs the opponent with great power. This dimension has the appearance of a space void filled with planets, nebulae and distant stars, in which the opponent is eternally floating.
• Galaxian Explosion: It is the most powerful technique of the Gemini Saints projecting a shock wave after crossing his arms. The impact generates an explosion accompanied by a huge thunderclap that rends both the earth and the sky. It is capable of destroying the stars of the galaxy, managing to pulverize without a trace any victim that it fully reaches.
• Genro Mao Ken (Demon Emperor's Delusional Fist): It sends a shock of power through the opponent's brain to controls his will. It is one of the most powerful mind control techniques that exist in the entire Saint Seiya universe.

Gemini Defteros

Gemini Defteros, also known as the Demon of Canon Island and addressed as a man who can destroy the stars of a galaxy, first reveals himself as a man of incredible savagery, although he is at heart a serene warrior. He lives by the philosophy of survival of the strongest. Twin brother of the late Gemini Aspros. During his younger years, Defteros suffered the rejection of Sanctuary as a Saint apprentice. Forced to wear an iron mask to hide his existence from the outer world, Defteros was protected by his older brother Aspros who was considered the rightful future heir of the Gemini Gold Cloth.

• Another Dimension: As the Gemini Gold Saint he has the power to bend time and space to his own liking, allowing him to travel to different places in seconds and capture enemies in the space between dimensions.
• Galaxian Explosion: Gemini Saint's ultimate technique. Crossing his forearms in a X-shape with the palms of his hands open, he releases a power, which is equal to the explosion of several galaxies.
• Mauros Eruption Crust: The first sign of its activation is the flood of lava, which covers his surroundings. He then puts one hand on the ground, resting his other on the elbow of his outstretched arm, directing an eruption of magma towards the opponent.

Cancer Manigoldo

Cancer Manigoldo is the Gold Saint of Cancer and disciple of the previous Cancer Gold Saint, Sage. He was shown as being somewhat hostile and talking in an informal, almost humorous way. Manigoldo is bold, aggressive, arrogant and very confident, he believed that the dead of all eras are nothing but refuse. When meeting Sage, he decides to train in the Sanctuary to understand the idea that every person who is alive or dead is part of the universe.

• Acubens: Manigoldo's melee attack in which he imitates a crab's pincers by using both legs to cut his opponent in half.
• Sekishiki Meikai Ha (Praesepe Underworld Waves): Separate his opponent's soul from their body and send it to Yomotsu Hirasaka, the gateway to the underworld. Those sent to Yomotsu Hirasaka by Cancer find themselves drained of nearly all strength and cannot return to the world of the living without divine help.
• Sekishiki Kisoen (Praesepe Demonic Blue Flames): Manigoldo summons the Ignis Fatuus, blue flames that burn by feeding on others' souls, and sends them to incinerate the soul of his opponent.
• Sekishiki Konso Ha (Praesepe Soul Burial Waves): This technique takes advantage of any spirits nearby and use them as gunpowder to produce a great explosion. The explosion is proportional to the strength of the spirits themselves.

Leo Regulus

Leo Regulus is the Leo Gold Saint in Lost Canvas. He is the youngest of the Gold Saints and has been classified as a combat specialist. He appears to have a very close relationship to Unicorn Yato. He trained under his uncle Sagittarius Sisyphos and is considered a prodigy even amongst the Gold Saints, a formidable one-on-one combatant.

• Lightning Crown: Regulus sends his Cosmo energy into the ground, then erupts like many pillars of electricity. This technique can be used to defend against incoming attacks, to attack his enemies, or to paralyze targets.
• Lightning Plasma: Regulus strikes at the speed of light with one or both fists, reaching a hundred million hits per second in form of a series of small electric light beams.
• Lightning Bolt: The Leo Saint throws his fist at extreme speeds, creating a rift in the air through which he forces a high electric current generated by his Cosmo.
• Zodiac Clamation: It calls upon the constellations of the zodiac to launch the attacks of all twelve Gold Saints at the same time.

Virgo Asmita

Virgo Asmita is the Virgo Gold Saint in Lost Canvas. Asmita is blind and says his eyes maintain closed and he can't open them. Asmita has an introspective personality and practices Buddhism in the Sanctuary. He does not consider Sasha as a good goddess as she is the sister of Alone and he has thought of betraying and killing her. He later sacrifices himself by awakening the 8th Sense in order to create the 108 counts Mala, so Hades' warriors cannot return to life.

• Kan: He uses mantra to create a protective sphere around him which is strong enough to resist incoming attacks.
• Om: Flare his Cosmo to the maximum before releasing his Tenma Kufoku.
• Tenma Kofuku (Demon Pacifier): A powerful attack which manifests Asmita's Cosmo physically between his palms. Afterward, a powerful burst of light obliterates any opponents.
• Riku Do Rin Ne: Send his opponent's soul to one of the six worlds, while the physical body remains in the place of battle.
• Tenkuhaja Chimimoryon: An ability of the Virgo Saints to summon spirits to attack large groups of enemies.
• Tenbu Horin (The Treasures of Heavens): Virgo Saintsl most powerful attack that not only entraps victims in a matrix of illusions but also destroys the five senses of the opponent. The offensive power of this attack is so destructive that it can easily destroy the opponent's armor as well.

Libra Dohko

Libra Dohko portrayed during his youth showing signs of slight rashness and immaturity. He is a good friend of Aries Shion and Taurus Aldebaran to whom he often talks and confides his way of thinking is thanks to them. His Libra Cloth contains a pair of six types of weapon, namely sword, shield, trident, twin rods, Tong-Fa and three-section staves. After the end of Holy War Athena entrusts him with the responsibility of guarding the sealed souls of the Specters. She bestows on Dohko the divine gift of Misopethamenos which grants him incredible longevity by means of a process of simulated aging and reduced cardiac activity, becoming thus the reason of Dohko's surviving until the late 20th century.

• Lushan One Hundred Dragons Force (Rozan Hyakuryu Ha): One hundred bursts of Cosmo shaped as blue dragons appear around him as the enemies are destroyed by this energy-based offensive move.
• Lushan Dragon Flight (Rozan Ryu Hisho): Throwing the body against the opponent as a weapon to hit with a strong impulse.
• Lushan Rising Dragon Force (Rozan Shoryuha): A fearsome blow of tremendous strength soaring into the air as an image of a dragon devouring it.
• Lushan's Enraged Dragon Force (Rozan Koryuha): An explosion of Cosmo that sends both the user and the victim flying upwards at high speed, to be burnt by atmospheric friction.

Scorpio Kardia

Scorpio Kardia is a close acquaintance of the Aquarius Gold Saint. He is introduced as a merciless sadist and a prideful, arrogant, and boastful warrior with an explosive personality. Kardia is addicted to fights, therefore, he fights for his own amusement. Further motivation comes from a degenerative heart disease which shortens his life. He decided to live his short life intensely, only doing what he pleases and encountering death while facing a strong adversary.

• Scarlet Needle: Launches a crimson needle to 14 body parts to poison opponents, causing bleeding and excruciating pain, losing their 5 senses in the process, upon receiving several of the blows, the result can only be either madness or death.
• Scarlet Needle: Antares: Fire a glowing red sphere to the center of the victim's torso and complete the Scarlet Needle with the fifteenth and last blow of the technique.
• Scarlet Needle Katakaio Antares: Activates when his heart reaches high temperatures. It relies on heat and using its index finger nail it fires it into its opponent's bloodstream, boiling their blood and burning their flesh.
• Scarlet Needle Burning Antares: The final hit after dealing 14 stings equal to the number of visible stars in the Scorpion Constellation.

Sagittarius Sisyphos

Sagittarius Sisyphos is the man who took Sasha to Sanctuary, laying great hopes on her. He is younger brother of Leo Ilias and uncle and mentor to Leo Regulus. During the invasion of Hades to the Sanctuary, he attacks Hades with a Gold Arrow but Hades reverts it easily piercing his heart, ending up in a comatose state. Before his death, it is revealed that Sisyphos' feelings and motivations to protect Sasha went beyond simple devotion as a Saint.

• Golden Arrow of Sagittarius: Sagittarius' most basic attack is shooting his arrow.
• Light Arrows: Sagittarius can set aside his physical arrows and make ones out of pure Cosmo.
• Cheiron's Light Impulse: An attack that consists of manipulating the cosmos to emanate a powerful golden wind that is capable of extinguishing powerful attacks.
• Kheiron's Thyella: Sisyphus spreads its wings and propels a wide beam of light with its arms that generates a massive whirlwind and strong winds that destroys everything around it.

Capricorn El Cid

El Cid appears to be a quiet and introspective character, seeming a silent assassin. In the god's last assault, El Cid defended Tenma by thrusting his amputated arm into Oneiros' heart, being killed in a great explosion with the Dream Gods, while they were rising into the sky.

• Excalibur: All Capricorns retain the sword Athena gave to the legendary Capricorn Saint back in mythological times. It shoots out from the swing of his right arm as a very fast attack that cuts through anything as if it were a sword.
• Jumping Stone: Capricorn can counter an attack by hooking his legs under the opponent and throws them overhead with the same force that the enemy aimed at him.

Aquarius Degel

Aquarius Degel is known in Sanctuary as the wisest among Athena's Saints. He is the only person, besides the Great Pope, who can read and interpret the stars. Apart from this he appears to be very calm and polite. He has his own library and is the only Saint who wears glasses.

• Diamond Dust: An attack manifests in the form of innumerable sharp and cutting snow crystals that are thrown through a powerful cold wind or blizzard.
• Koltso (Ice Ring): Creates rings of icy wind that circles the opponent's body stopping his movement.
• Aurora Execution: The ultimate technique of Aquarius Degel in form of a powerful blast that simulates the Aurora, freezing the air temperature to its maximum Absolute Zero (-273.15°C).
• Freezing Coffin: The Saint of Aquarius raises his hand in the air, firing multiple beams enclosing a body in a solid block of ice.

Pisces Albafica

Pisces Albafica is the Pisces Gold Saint in Lost Canvas. Extremely beautiful, living amidst a poisonous rose field for years, he gains absolute immunity towards any kind of poison, although that power comes with a great price. Due to living in that very same poisonous environment, his blood too turned poisonous after excessive exposure. This led him to be considered as extremely cold because despite his striking beauty, he tends to avoid contact with people.

• Rose Garden: Pisces tends a garden of poisonous roses whose fumes can dispatch enemies without him lifting a finger. He can make this garden bloom anywhere he pleases.
• Crimson Thorn: He can cause his blood to evaporate and form a crimson mist. Then he commands the suspended droplets to form needles and bombard his opponent.
• Royal Demon Rose: Pisces flings red roses at his opponent. If the victim is cut by their thorns or inhales their fragrance, they are poisoned, gradually lose their five senses and ultimately die.
• Piranhan Rose: Pisces flings black roses at his opponent. While the red roses do damage over time, the black roses act like a swarm of piranhas, instantly tearing apart anything in their path.
• Bloody Rose: In his ultimate attack, Pisces flings one or more white roses at his opponent. It seeks out the heart of its target, able to penetrate even Gold armor, and once it pierces the body, it will get dyed red as it sucks all the blood from its victim.
