God Warriors In Saint Seiya

God Warriors are warriors of the northen lands of Asgard who fight to defend the Norse God Odin. They wear armors known as God Robes themed after mythological creatures from Norse mythology and named after the stars of Ursa Major. These Warriors are exceptionally strong, and they seem to possess a standard level of strength comparable to a Gold Saint, but it appears that their powers can be pushed even beyond, like some of them have shown during the battles.

Polaris Hilda
A beautiful and powerful young woman who is Odin's representative on Earth and priestess of Asgard (similar to Athena's Pope). She is possessed by the Nibelung Ring (controlled by Poseidon) after rejecting his influence, and sets her sights on world domination in the name of Odin. Her younger sister Freya contacts Saori and asks her and the Saints for help.

Dubhe Alpha Siegfried
He is said to be the strongest warrior among the God Warriors and the second in command after Hilda. He is very loyal to Hilda and seems to harbor deeper feelings for her. In the beginning, he does not believe the Saints when they tell him that Hilda is being controlled by the Niebelungen Ring. However, after Poseidon's Sea General Siren Sorento arrived and told the truth, he switched sides and sacrificed himself to kill Siren Sorento. His armor resembles the dragon Fafner. He is commented to be invulnerable, in the same way as the Norse legendary hero Siegfried, one of the reasons why he is considered the strongest God Warrior.
  • Odin Sword: Siegfried unleashes his Cosmo, firing a laser at his opponent's feet and then shooting them upwards to inflict additional damage from the debris.
  • Dragon Bravest Blizzard: The most powerful attack in Siegfried's arsenal. The Alpha God Warrior charges his fists, and then fires a cold blast of wind in the form of a two-headed dragon, freezing everything in his path.

Merak Beta Hagen
Since childhood, he lived in the Valhalla Palace training in the cold mountain peaks and volcanic caves in Asgard with the purpose of protecting Hilda and Freya. Jealous of Hyoga's relationship with Freya, Hagen fought against him but was defeated by the freezing blast of the Aurora Execution. His God Robe resembles Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse owned by Odin. Being a mighty warrior of Asgard, Hagen forms the line of the three strongest God Warriors along with Siegfried and Syd. His powers dominate both the cold and heat:
  • Universe Freezing:
    • Variation 1: A large mass of cold air going toward the opponent that freezes quickly.
    • Variation 2: A blizzard that is directed towards the opponent, freezing them where they stand.
    • Variation 3: Rays of ice, which are capable of freezing fire. If the opponent is frozen, it is impossible to break the ice.
  • Great Ardent Pressure:
    • Variation 1: Power of the flames which, coupled with extreme heat, quickly overwhelms the opponent. This flame can defrost anything.
    • Variation 2: Hagen makes huge flames go out of his wrist and go directly to the opponent, scorching them with the intensity of the flame.

Phecda Gamma Thor
Thor was a poor Asgard villager who stole riches from the wealthy and gave it to the poor, similar to Robin Hood. At some point, he was severely injured by the Valhalla Palace guardians when he tried to hunt near the Palace. Almost dying, he is forgiven and healed by Odin's priestess Polaris Hilda. Ever since he felt her pure and warm Cosmo, and was moved by Hilda's frustration about not being able to help everyone in Asgard despite being Odin's priestess, Thor swore to protect her as her guardian. His armor resembles Jormungandr, the sea serpent, who faced the Norse god Thor at the Battle of Ragnarok.
  • Titanic Hercules: Thor focuses his Cosmo in his fist and then rushes at his opponent, firing a capsule of powerful purple energy.
  • Mjolnir Hammer: Thor has two hammers named Mjolnir to harm his opponents.

Megrez Delta Alberich
Descendant of a renowned family of warriors and scholars in Asgard, Alberich was famous for his intelligence and cunning, as well as for his cold heart. His own fellow warriors didn't trust him and Hilda herself lectured him often. He was the only witness of Hilda's possession by Poseidon's Nibelung ring, taking advantage of this war, he planned to conquer the world. He was one of the most shrewd, sly warriors as he could have nature fight for him and used his intelligence to avoid fighting. His God Robe resembles gemstones of the treasure of the Nibelungen that Alberich guards.
  • Amethyst Sealed: A technique where Alberich fires a bevy of amethyst crystals at his opponent, resulting in the amethysts joining together and trapping the opponent in a coffin of amethyst that slowly drains the life away from them.
  • Unity of Nature: This technique was created by Alberich XIII, an ancestor of Alberich. It involves Alberich using his Cosmo to manipulate the spirits of nature itself to attack his opponent with his surroundings.
  • Sword of Fire: Alberich has a sword that he creates at will. It's composed of a crystalline substance and generates its own flames. Alberich can freely control the flame and use it to burn the surroundings.

Alioth Epsilon Fenrir
Fenrir was a member of one of the most powerful and richest families in Asgard. One day, when he and his family went hunting, they were attacked by a bear. Helped by wolves and abandoned by humans, he started to live with wolves adopting their life style and deeply hating humans. Later, he was chosen by Hilda as the Epsilon God Warrior. He died fighting against Shiryu when an avalanche fell over him and his wolves. His God Robe resembles that of his namesake Fenrir, the wolf child of Loki prophesied to bring about Ragnarok.
  • Wolf Cruelty Claw: Fenrir concentrates his Cosmo in his fist, and then fires it in the form of enormous claws which carve up the enemy at the speed of light.
  • Northern Wolf Pack Punch: Fenrir fires off his red-tinted Cosmo as numerous wolf heads, tearing through the enemy's defenses.

Mizar Zeta Syd
Syd was the first God Warrior to be introduced in the Asgard arc. He was sent to Sanctuary to declare war against Athena. Syd is one of the strongest God Warriors, arguably second only to Siegfried himself. By his own admission, he was never injured in combat until Seiya struck him with his Pegasus Meteor Fist. Before his death, it was revealed he always knew about his twin brother, Alcor Zeta Bud, and both he and his parents always regretted having abandoned him, but were unable to do anything in his favor. His God Robe is that of a saber-toothed cat.
  • Viking Tiger Claw: His most used attack. Once Syd's fingernails take on the appearance of actual tiger claws, it shoots a flurry of punishing claw strikes at lightspeed, while producing frost that coats the struck opponent's body in the aftermath.
  • Blue Impulse: Syd's strongest technique. After lifting and opening his arms, he generates a large blue sphere of energy resembling an atom, seemingly created from his Odin Sapphire, which is released after charging up.

Alcor Zeta Bud
Syd and Bud are twins who were born into a very wealthy family in Asgard. Due to local superstitions that twins bring bad luck to the family, Bud's parents were forced to abandon the younger twin, Bud. A poor man raised him as his own child, until one day, during hunting, Bud encountered his twin brother Syd and the parents who abandoned him. Hilda made of him a shadow God Warrior, saying he would replace Syd as the real God Warrior only when Syd died. His God Robe, like his brother, is also a saber-toothed cat.
  • Shadow Viking Tiger Claw: Bud pounces on his opponent, transforming his nails into claws which cut up his enemy with numerous light speed slashes.

Benetnasch Eta Mime
Mime grew up with his father Folker, a powerful warrior who trained him against his will, since Mime himself wanted to be a musician. One day, Mime discovered that Folker had cruelly killed his true parents. Guided by his fury and by Folker's boasting, he killed Folker. At the end of this battle, Mime discovered that Folker actually was a good man who killed Mime's parents unintentionally. Mime's God Robe resembles the harp belonging to Bragi, the god of poetry in Norse mythology.
  • Stringer Requiem: Mime plays his harp, and several strings are fired at his opponent. The strings begin to strangle the opponent as Mime plays the harp, giving the enemy unbearable pain. The opponent dies as soon as the music ends.
  • Lightspeed Attack: Mime plays his harp before firing several strings of energy from his fingertips, each one travelling at the speed of light.
