The Yorbian Continent
The Yorbian Continent is one of the 6 continents of the Hunter × Hunter world. Yorknew City, famous for its auctions, is located in this continent. Yorbian is also where a severed body part of the Chimera Ant Queen was first found.The United States Of Saherta
The United States of Saherta is a country in the middle of the Yorbian Continent, and one of the countries of the V6. Notable places in this country are: Yorknew City, Gordeau Desert, and Glam Gas Land
- Yorknew City: It is a sprawling metropolis of the United States of Saherta, on the Yorbian Continent. The city annually holds various auctions including the world's largest auction: the Southernpiece Auction, in which the world's rarest and most valuable artifacts are accumulated in one place. The city is also famous for its black market auctions which mostly deal with illegal goods. The city's election and authority are mostly bribed and controlled by the Mafia Community. As a result, all enforcement forces in the city ranging from police to SWAT are literally dirty cops and Mafia henchmen.
- The Gordeau Desert: The Gordeau Desert is located in the outskirts of Yorknew City. It is a large scale dry wasteland, where half of the Phantom Troupe members were stranded and the one member Uvogin fought against members of the Mafia Community and Shadow Beasts.
- Glam Gas Land: The Pleasure Capital - Glam Gas Land is a city in the northern part of the United States of Saherta, on the Yorbian Continent, to the northeast of Yorknew City. For several past years, this area covered by red earth mountains was poor. A tribe of migrants, the Glam Caravan, discovered a natural gas resource among these mountains and settled near the gas deposits.
Balsa Islands
Balsa Islands are a group of islands located to the south of the Yorbian Continent. They include the Mitene Union, an island country made up of 5 smaller countries where the Chimera Ant crisis takes place.
The Mitene Union
The Mitene Union is a federation formed by 5 countries: the NGL Autonomous Region, the Republic of Rokario, the Republic of Hass, the Republic of West Gorteau, and the Republic of East Gorteau. It is located in the Balsa Islands, to the south of the Yorbian Continent.
Neo-Green Life (NGL) Autonomous Region: It was a self-governed country and part of the Mitene Union. It was populated by 2.17 million civilians prior to its decimation. The people of NGL rejected any form of modern technology and prevent anything created from synthetic materials from entering their country. Any smuggling of technological goods, modern medicine, or weapons was dealt with through imprisonment or death sentence. Their main form of correspondence was through use of letters while the primary mode of transport was by horse.
- NGL Border Stop: NGL Border Stop is a combination of two large, hollowed-out trees that act as the checkpoint and embassy to the NGL. In order to prevent anything created from synthetic materials from entering their country and for someone to enter the country as a whole, one has to go through an extensive full-body examination, x-ray scan, and ultrasound at the border stop.
- D² Manufacturing Plant: D² Manufacturing Plant was a narcotics factory of the dangerous drug D². It was created to mass produce the D² drug developed by Gyro to spread evil and ruin the lives of others. The NGL was founded as an ingenious way to cover D² production, including the factory and the plantation of Bira (D²'s raw material). It is likely that only the NGL's leaders know about the manufacturing of this narcotic, while the residents living an environmentalist lifestyle were most likely ignorant of the situation.
Republic of Rokario:It is one of the nations of the Mitene Union. It is bordered by the NGL on the west and the Republic of Hass at the east. After the Chimera Ant crisis was over this country took over part of the Republic of East Gorteau with other parts being taken over by the Republic of Hass and the Republic of West Gorteau.
- Pata City: Pata City is a small city within the Republic of Rokario. It is one of the modern cities that's closest to the border of the NGL. The city was briefly rampaged by the former Squadron Leader Cheetu and this incident, as well as the other that followed afterward, is covered in a local news broadcast.
- Doli City: Doli City is a small city within the Republic of Rokario. It is a small densely populated city that is also one of the closest modern cities to the NGL and the main place where Gon and Killua train themselves under their Nen teacher Biscuit to fight against Knuckle and Shoot for the right to join the Chimera Ant Extermination Team.
Republic of Hass: Republic of Hass is one of the nations of the Mitene Union. It is bordered by the Republic of Rokario on the west and the Republic of West Gorteau at the east. After the Chimera Ant crisis was over this country took over part of the Republic of East Gorteau with other parts being taken over by the Republic of Rokario and the Republic of West Gorteau.
Republic of West Gorteau: Republic of West Gorteau is one of the nations of the Mitene Union. It is bordered by the Republic of Hass on the west and the Republic of East Gorteau at the east. After the Chimera Ant crisis was over this country took over part of the Republic of East Gorteau with other parts being taken over by the Republic of Rokario and the Republic of Hass.
The Republic of East Gorteau: It was one of the nations in the Mitene Union, formerly bordered by the Republic of West Gorteau. Its last Supreme Leader was Ming Jol-ik before the Chimera Ant King dethroned him. It used to be an isolationist nation, with its capital city being Peijin. The Royal Palace rests outside of Peijin in the wilderness. The country ceases to exist after the Chimera Incident. It originally counted over 5000000 inhabitants, all of whom became refugees.
- Peijin: Peijin is the capital city of the Republic of East Gorteau, located on the Southeastern end of the country. Ming Jol-ik, Supreme Leader of the country, lives in a palace just outside of the city. After the Chimera Ants covertly seize power of the country, Neferpitou manipulates Ming Jol-ik's body to have the nation's citizens all assemble in Peijin.
- The Royal Palace: The Royal Palace of East Gorteau is the parliament building of the Republic of East Gorteau and was the home of Ming Jol-ik. The palace is enclosed within tall, stone walls and is surrounded by a wide courtyard. Located behind the palace are ten large trees with 500 cocoons each. There is a central stairway that leads to the throne room on the third level.
Battera's Castle
Battera's Castle is an old castle that belongs to Battera. It houses in its lowest level a room where thirty-two copies of the Greed Island game run on JoyStation Consoles. Many Greed Island players entered the game at Battera's Castle.
The Azian Continent
The Azian Continent is one of the 6 continents of the Hunter × Hunter world. It is the location where the Phantom Troupe were expelled to, when Razor encounters them when they trespass onto Greed Island.Kakin Empire
It is a country in the middle of the Azian Continent, and later also one of the countries of the V6. In the age of rival warlords, Kakin was a small country that threatened to be absorbed by its neighboring countries. The country then shifted from being a socialist empire to a parliamentary democracy thirty years ago in what was called The Most Silent Revolution in History. As a result, the name of the country was changed and all treaties considered null by the new government. In recent years, it underwent considerable economic growth.
Greed Island
Greed Island is a famous video game in the world. It is played on the JoyStation Console but is out of print and sells at auctions for at least 8 billion. The game transports its players' physical bodies into the world of Greed Island, only releasing them when they: die, win, or use a special card in the game that lets them out. In actuality, it is a real place that is an island located east of the Yorbian Continent.
- Masadora: Masadora, known as the Magic City, is a city on Greed Island. The city has a fantasy-themed appearance. The spell cards are only sold here. With 10,000, one can buy 3 random spell cards in the spell card shop. Many players who have given up on the game come to this city to look for a Leave card to get out of the island.
- Soufrabi: Soufrabi, The Port City, is a city located on Greed Island. It is a city with a beautiful line of cliffs that are ruled by pirates. The lighthouse on a headland of the city is their secret den. If a group of players can purge the pirates from the town, they will be rewarded with a very rare and important item.
- Aiai: Aiai known as The City of Love, is a city on Greed Island. The atmosphere on the streets of this city feels like it is based upon romantic simulation games. A pink heart-shaped object floating in the sky is its symbol. In this city, there are all kinds of cliched situations and events that can lead to love.
- Antokiba: Antokiba, also known as The Town of Prizes, is a city on Greed Island and the closest to the center of the island. The walls in the city are pasted up with very many reward posters. Many players go straight to Antokiba when beginning the game so a lot of basic information about beginners can be gathered in this city.
- Rubicuta: Rubicuta is a town on Greed Island. Little was shown from Rubicuta but it is populated by at least 100 non-player characters (NPCs). Due to its location near the starting point of the island, the town can be considered an alternative to Antokiba as a place to go at the beginning of the game.
- Dorias: Dorias, The Gambling City, is a city on Greed Island. The casino is the staple of this city. One is not required to wear formal clothes to enter it, and even children are allowed. Some types of specified slot cards can only be obtained by getting a triple seven on a slot machine or by winning poker against the Casino King.
- Limeiro: Limeiro is the capital of Greed Island. The big castle where, according to rumors, Game Masters live is the symbol of the city. Not only the castle, even the streets of the city are full of energy. The last event of the game is held in this city. The players who clear the game, can arrive in this city and receive an impressive welcome as the ending.
Unnamed Continent 1
Federation of OchimaThe Federation of Ochima is a country located below the Azian Continent on a yet unnamed continent and is one of the countries of the V6. In the past, the Federation of Ochima went to the Dark Continent southeast of Lake Mobius, looking for Nitro Rice. 99% fell prey to Hellbell before they even got to the swamps where the rice grows. Only eleven returned alive.
Unnamed Continent 2
Begerossé UnionBegerossé Union is a country located between the Yorbian Continent and the Azian Continent on a yet unnamed continent and is one of the countries of the V6. In the past Begerossé Union sent a research group of 1,000 people to secure a route along the northeast shore of Lake Mobius to find the Unmanned Rock. They entered inside Pap's territory in a steep mountain range. Only 7 people came back from that trip.
Unnamed Continent 3
Kukan'yu KingdomKukan'yu Kingdom is a country located above the Yorbian Continent on a yet unnamed continent and is one of the countries of the V6. In the past, Beyond Netero accompanied a team formed by the Kukan'yu Kingdom's to explore the Dark Continent and succeeded in bringing back the alchemy plant Metallion, but by going off-route, they caught Zobae Disease. The plant died and only six returned including Beyond and the Hunter afflicted by the disease, who has been self-sustaining for almost 50 years.
- Zaban City: It is a place located within the Kukan'yu Kingdom and was the preliminary site of the 287th Hunter Exam. The city is described as a prosperous city, the streets are subsequently filled with shady dealers and scam artists.
- The Milsy Wetlands: The Milsy Wetlands, also known as the Swindler's Swamp, is the site of the second part of the First Phase in the 287th Hunter Exam. The wetlands are home to numerous beasts, mysterious creatures, and deadly plants. A thick fog continually covers the area.
- The Visca Forest Preserve: It was the first site of the Second Phase in the 287th Hunter Exam. A forest spreading past the Milsy Wetlands, the reserve is home to the Great Stamp, the world's most ferocious pig, and to the Spider Eagles that live in the Split Mountain. It also contains numerous streams and lakes, home to a variety of freshwater fish.
- Split Mountain: It was the second site of the 2nd Phase in the 287th Hunter Exam. The mountain is famous for its characteristic split in the middle that divides the mountain into two equal halves and for its strong currents inside the split. It's also the home to the Spider Eagles that build their nests between the cliffs on Split Mountain with their webs.
- Trick Tower: It is a prison and the site of the Third Phase of the 287th Hunter Exam. The Trick Tower is a giant cylinder-shaped tower that holds incarcerated individuals in its trap and puzzle compounds. It is also the location where the Third Phase of the 287th Hunter Exam took place.
- Zevil Island: It is the location where the Fourth Phase of the 287th Hunter Exam takes place.
Jappon
Jappon is an island country in the world. Being the home country of sushi, ninjas, and haiku. It is the fictional equivalent of real-life Japan. Hanzo and Basho come from this country.
Unnamed Continent 4
The Republic of PadokeaIt is a country composed of several parts including the Dentora Region where Kukuroo Mountain is located. Access to the country is free, with no special conditions to be met.
- Kukuroo Mountain: Kukuroo Mountain is a dormant volcano located in Dentora Region of the Republic of Padokea. It stands 3,722 meters above sea level and is where the infamous Zoldyck Family lives. The family owns the mountain and the land around it is surrounded by huge stone gates. The foot of the mountain is covered by dense jungle and typically surrounded by thick clouds.
Parasta
Parasta is a town with its own airport.
The Mimbo Republic
The Mimbo Republic is a country in the south of the Republic of Padokea, and one of the countries of the V6. In the past, the Mimbo Republic got the Hunter Association's help to send an expedition team to the Dark Continent and collect the Trinity Elixir. The team were surrounded by Ai resulting in some sort of quarrel. Only three survivors returned, but empty-handed and without even a shred of their sanity.
The Heavens Arena
The Heaven Arena is a tower combat arena, the world's most popular battle site, where victorious fighters ascend to higher floors as part of its reward system. It is located in the eastern part of the continent. Heavens Arena stands 991 meters tall and has 251 floors. Inside, 4,000 fighters on average compete daily in order to test their skills and advance to higher floors. The annual spectator attendance is over 1 billion and the building is fully equipped with service facilities, including restaurants and shopping.
Swardani City
Swardani City is a sprawling metropolis in which the Hunter Association's Headquarters is located.
Unknown Locations
Whale IslandWhale Island is the hometown of Gon Freecss. Ging Freecss and his cousin Mito Freecss were both born and raised there as well. It is largely visited as a small port for fishermen, with few actual residents living there.
Meteor City
Meteor City is a junkyard city inhabited by outcasts. People who live there do not exist in any official records and the existence of the city itself is known to very few people. It is rumored to be at least five-hundred years old, and was believed to have been founded by a dictator who wanted to separate the human race. The city is said to have the most diverse ethnic background and its population estimated at eight to ten million people. The Mafia Community often invests a lot in the city so they can always have a huge reserve of assassins.
Lukso Province
It is the residence of the previous Kurta Clan, prior to their massacre by the Phantom Troupe. This province is not easily found, which is the reason why Kurta clan members were able to hide themselves.
The Sengi Guild
The Sengi Guild is an underground agency in a very poor looking slum. It is very well hidden from the public and is occupied by an agent. It is the lone location where a guild agent acts as a proxy to hire Nen capable people for shady underground work.
Outside World
The Dark ContinentIt is a place that stretches beyond the Known World which is nested inside the gigantic Lake Mobius. The ancestors of the human race apparently migrated from there to the Known World, as the deciphering of myths and the study of ancient ruins seem to testify. It is speculated that Magical Beasts similarly originated from the Dark Continent
Lake Mobius
Lake Mobius is a massive lake in the center of the Dark Continent. It is conventionally divided in three sections: Human Territorial Waters, which encompass the territory occupied by mankind, Untamed Waters, where the New Continent is located, and Dark Waters. The latter two are divided by the Border Waters, an area where passage is regulated by the Gatekeeper.
The New Continent
It is an island located in the Untamed Waters of Lake Mobius, and thus outside of the territory colonized by mankind. From human perspective, it lies before the Border Waters and the area controlled by the Gatekeeper, it is technically not part of the Dark Continent.
