Athena's Silver Saints In Saint Seiya

The Silver Saints are the Saints that wear Silver Cloths, the second most powerful of Cloths. They are specialists in battle equipped with powerful tools and weapons to strengthen their capabilities. The power of Silver Saints greatly exceeds that of the Bronze Saints, with the weakest Silver Saint being at least twice as strong as a Bronze Saint. Silver Saints can be up to five times stronger than the Bronze Saints with the ability to reach Mach 5 in speed. Silver Saint's Cosmo is not as completely awakened as the Gold Saints but they have a wider knowledge of it than the Bronze Saints do. In total there exists 24 Silver Saints. The Silver Cloths, the main armor for Silver Saints, freeze at a temperature of -200°C and are a lot more resilient than Bronze Cloths.

Eagle Marin

Marin is a female Silver Saint of the Aquila constellation, and Seiya's teacher when he was training to become a Saint. Due to the code of the female Saints, Seiya never had the chance to know her mentor's facial features, as she always concealed her behind her mandatory mask. Although Seiya endured hardships during his training, he and Marin bonded strongly.

Ophiuchus Shaina

Shaina is a temperamental but courageous female Silver Saint, Athena's prohibition of women becoming Saints demanded of Shaina to abandon her femininity when starting her training as a Saint and forever hide her face from men. She is the master of Pegasus Seiya's rival, Cassios. Initially an enemy of Pegasus Seiya, Shaina becomes an important ally of the Bronze Saints as the series progresses. Her main goal in the beginning is getting revenge on Seiya, but she ends failling in love with him.

Centaurus Babel

Babel was the second Silver Saint to meet his defeat at the hands of the Bronze Saints. He was a master of pyrokinesis and was able to travel in the form of a will-o'-the-wisp. He was sent along with Misty, Asterion and Mozes to kill the Bronze Saints for their crimes against Sanctuary. However, due to Aries Mu's intervention, they went after the wrong Saints, ending up killing the Black Saints instead. His technique is Fotia Roufihtra.

Perseus Algol

Algol is one of the Silver Saints sent to kill the Bronze Saints in the Sanctuary Arc. He was a Silver Saint sent to destroy the Colosseum that the Galaxian Wars tournament took place in and kidnap Saori Kido. He turned Andromeda Shun into stone with the Shield of Medusa, which could petrify opponents when it opened its eyes.

• Ra's Al Ghul Gorgonio (Head of the Ghoul Gorgoneion): Perseus Algol leaps high into the air while he creates an illusion of tons of serpents and forces himself into his victim with a mighty kick.
• Medusa Shield: Algol can use the legendary Medusa Shield that can transform anyone who looks directly to it into stone.

Crow Jamian

Jamian is one of Silver Saints. He was known in Sanctuary as the Saint who could control crows like his own limbs. Jamian was a rather goofy Saint with comically ugly facial features and stupid behaviour, but quite powerful and cunning as an enemy. He was part of the second team of Silver Saints that had the mission of kidnapping Saori Kido and destroying the Colosseum where the Galaxian Wars took place. His technique is Black Wing Shaft.

Cerberus Dante

Dante is one of Athena's 24 Silver Saints that fight for justice. Like Jamian, Shaina, Algol and Capella, he received the mission to destroy the Graud Foundation Colosseum were the Galaxian Wars tournament had taken place and kidnap Saori Kido. His techniques is Jigoku no Kokyusa.

Auriga Capella

Capella is one of Athena's 24 Silver Saints that are supposed to fight for justice and peace on earth. She was ordered along with Jamian, Algol and Dante to destroy the Graud Foundation Colosseum where the Galaxian Wars tournament had taken place, and to kidnap Saori Kido. Her technique is Saucer Kogeki.

Canis Major Sirius

Sirius is one of Athena's 24 Silver Saints that fights for Peace and Justice on earth. When Leo Aiolia went to Japan to deal with the rebelling Bronze Saints, he was sent under the watch of three Silver Saints. Sirius led the group of Saints, and refused to ignore Aiolia's softness in handling the Bronze Saint. The three Silver Saints did not heed Aiolia's warning to stay away, and were killed by the Gold Cloth. His technique is Great Mountain Smasher.

Musca Dio

Dio is one of Athena's 24 Silver Saints that fights for peace and justice on Earth. When Leo Aiolia went to Japan to deal with the rebelling Bronze Saints, he was sent under the watch of three Silver Saints. Dio was one of them, and spent most of the time sneering at the other Saints. He was killed by the Sagittarius Gold Cloth. His technique is Dead End Fly

Hercules Algethi

Hercules Algethi is one of the Silver Saints. When Leo Aiolia went to Japan to deal with the rebelling Bronze Saints, he was sent under the watch of three Silver Saints. One of them was Algethi, who is physically the strongest Saint in the Sanctuary. He was killed by the Sagittarius Gold Cloth. His technique is Kornephoros.

Sagitta Ptomely

Ptomely is the Silver Saint of the Sagitta constellation. After the Bronze Saints pledged to help Saori Kido as Athena, they went to the Sanctuary in Greece. Ptolemy was sent to greet them there under orders of the Pope. After explaining how to reach the Pope through the twelve temples, he suddenly attacked the Saints with a shower of arrows.
Phantom Arrow: A shower of arrows which just a mere illusion and only 1 real arrow that will hit the opponent.

Lyra Orphee

Lyra Orphee was not only a music virtuoso, but he was skilled as a Silver Saint as well. It is stated that his Cosmo is above that of the Gold Saints and power may also equal all of Hades' 3 Judges. His control of the Cosmo was so great that he gained the reputation of being above the level of Gold Saints. Nevertheless, Orphee never felt all that interested in his fighting abilities, rather, he enjoyed devoting his free time playing lyre for various audiences, from the Grand Pope and the Gold Saints, to Hades and to Eurydice, the love of his life.

• Stringer Nocturne: This deadly attack uses the strings of his lyre to send electric shocks through his opponent, thus trapping them in a nighttime spiral which leads to death.
• Death Trip Serenade: He uses a requiem to send his opponents to sleep for days, or well into eternal somnolence.
• Stringer Fine: The last of Orphee's Melodies which uses the lyre's strings trap and shred anything of Orphee's choosing.

Cepheus Daidalos

Daidalos is a Silver Saint and the mentor of Andromeda Shun and Chameleon June who trained them on Andromeda Island. He was assassinated by Pisces Aphrodite when he sided with his student's belief that the Sanctuary was evil. He does not concentrate on one kind of attack method. He is skilled in nullifying attacks. He knows well how to manipulate weapons of other Cloths, that his own Cloth doesn't have. He was considered a Silver Saint with a level equal to that of a Gold Saint. His Silver Cloth represents the Cepheus constellation.

Silver Saint in Next Dimension

Crateris Suikyo

Suikyo is one of the Silver Saints in Next Dimension. He is a Silver Saint in the past Holy War between Hades and Athena set in 1747. He trained in the Sanctuary with Aries Shion and Libra Dohko and became a Silver Saint. He disappeared after being issued an order to investigate the countryside. Later he appeared and started turning into Hades. As a servant of Hades, he infiltrated Sanctuary, with orders to kill the infant Athena. The Crateris Silver Cloth is endowed with the ability to heal wounds and to foresee the future, reflected in the water it contains.

Silver Saint in Anime and Movie

Crystal Saint

The Crystal Saint is Cygnus Hyoga's and Kraken Isaac's master in the anime adaptation. In the anime, Camus was the Crystal Saint's master instead. This happened because the anime was being produced at the same time as the first arcs of the manga. At some point the anime surpassed the events of the manga, so original fillers were needed to be created, that later conflicted with the canon story, since the producers didn't know of Camus' existence by that point.

Tarantula Arachne

Arachne is the Silver Saint of Tarantula. He is an anime-only character. Arachne is sent by Phaeton to Jamir to seek help from Mu to find the Sagittarius Gold Cloth, as it had disappeared from the Sanctuary.

• Tarantula Net: Arachne takes a position as simulating a spider, then sends a network that drains the power of enemy until he dies.

Cepheus Albiore

Cepheus Albiore is one of Silver Saints and an anime-only character. Albiore is the master of Andromeda Shun and Chameleon June, Leda, and Spica. He is the anime counterpart of Cepheus Daidalos. From the beginning, Albiore did not trust the Patriarch and doubted his actions, never answering his calls to join the Sanctuary. Due to his disobedience, Pope Ares (Saga) sent Scorpio Milo and Pisces Aphrodite to gain control of the Andromeda Island.

Peacock Shiva

Peacock Shiva and his partner Lotus Aghora were disciples of Virgo Shaka, these two are Silver Saints that only appear in the anime. Shiva, along with fellow saint Agora, are sent to the Kanon Island in search of Phoenix Ikki, who was there healing their wounds and repairing his Cloth.

Lotus Aghora

Lotus Aghora and his partner Peacock Shiva were disciples of Virgo Shaka, who sent them to kill Phoenix Ikki as he was healing himself in a volcano before joining the Bronze Saints on the Sanctuary. These two are Silver Saints that only appear in the anime.

• Renge Bakusai Ken: Aghora creates a giant lotus blossom from the power of his Cosmo, then punches through the flower, releasing a blast of purple energy.

Orion Jager

Jager is one of Silver Saints. He appeared in the first Saint Seiya movie called Jashin Eris where he was part of a group of revived Saints called Ghost Five. His technique is Megaton Meteor Crash. He is said to be one of the most powerful Silver Saints who served Athena with honor. But after he was killed, he held a grudge over being forgotten, and the loneliness that comes with being dead. So he didn't hesitate to accept Eris's offer, and was soon revived with a new body to fight for the destruction of the world.

Sagitta Maya

Sagitta Maya is one of the Silver Saints. He appeared in the first Saint Seiya movie called Jashin Eris where he was a part of a group of revived Saints called Ghost Five. His technique is Hunting Arrow Express. He would fight to the death if it meant winning. He proves this when he faces Seiya, to first talk, and then attack with all his strength.

Lyra Orpheus

Orpheus is the Saint of Lyra, his class have only been confirmed with a question mark as Silver Saint. He s resurrected along with four other Silver Saints by Eris, to try to take over the Earth. Shun confronts Orpheus and defeats him easily with his Stringer Requiem.

• Stringer Requiem: The lyre's strings entangles Orpheus' opponent and leaves his victim at his mercy.

Scutum Jan

Jan is the Saint of Scutum, his class have only been confirmed with a question mark as Silver.Jan appeared in the first Saint Seiya movie called Jashin Eris where he was part of a group of revived Saints called Ghost Five. He is a Saint that apparently died in vain. This may well have been caused by his straightforward and jump-into-action personality. As he was restless in his grave, he gladly accepted Eris' offer, and was soon revived and given a new body

Crux Christ

Christ is the Saint of Crux and wears the Crux Cloth. His class have only been confirmed with a question mark as Silver. He appeared in the first Saint Seiya movie called Jashin Eris where he was part of a group of revived Saints called Ghost Five. He died some time before Athena was kidnapped, and is thus recognized by Hyoga as being the Southern Cross to Hyoga's Northern Cross. Feeling restless and tormented by his death as he lay in his grave, Christ put aside his Saint title and joined Eris, who revived him with a new body.

• Southern Cross Thunder Bolt: Christ shifts his arms into an L shape with the left one lying down. He then dashes forward with his Cosmo charged.
