Takani MegumiNickname: Fox Woman
Description: Takani Megumi is the main cast's primary physician after her appearance. Born into a prominent and dedicated family of doctors in the province of Aizu, Megumi was left alone after the death of her father and the disappearance of her mother and older brothers. After becoming medically proficient in her own right, she became the assistant of a doctor secretly making drugs for the industrialist Takeda Kanryu. Attempting to escape, Megumi was tailed by Kanryu's men and fled to the protection of Himura Kenshin and the Kamiya Dojo. Megumi remains on call in Tokyo after her freedom is restored in order to support the people who rescued her. She has a wicked sense of humor and enjoys flirting with Kenshin to make Kaoru jealous, but helps Kaoru come to terms with her feelings towards Kenshin. She is loyal to her friends and is always there to heal their wounds, especially Sanosuke, whom she often cautions about fighting. At the end of the series she leaves Tokyo to open a clinic in Aizu.
Oguni GensaiDescription: Oguni Gensai is a skilled elderly physician who owns and runs a modest clinic in downtown Tokyo near the Kamiya Dojo. A longtime friend of the Kamiya family, the good doctor is frequently called in when a member or ally of the Kenshin-gumi is in need of medical aid. In the anime series, Gensai is most often seen in the company of his two young granddaughters, Ayame and Suzume.
Ayame & SuzumeDescription: Ayame & Suzume is the granddaughter of Oguni Gensai. The sisters help out with chores and occasionally cooking at the Kamiya Dojo. Ayame is usually carefree and happy, finding enjoyment out of life most of the time and knowing the importance of hard work. She does, however, notice if someone is sad or angry and will usually try and help as best she can. She is a role model to her little sister. While Suzume is always repeating her older sister's words. She calls Kenshin Ken-nii (Brother Ken) and refers to Sanosuke as the spiky hair guy.
Sekihara TaeDescription: Sekihara Tae is the manager of the beef hot pot restaurant owned by her father, the Akabeko in Asakusa. She is Yahiko and Tsubame's boss, and Sanosuke owes her a seemingly large sum of money in which interest is accounted for. She tries to push the relationship between Kenshin and Kaoru since it seemed it to her that it was not working. The Akabeko is destroyed by Kujiranami Hyogo at the start of the Six Comrades' revenge against Kenshin, but it is re-opened at a temporary located soon after. She has an identical twin sister named Sekihara Sae who runs the family's original restaurant, the Shirobeko in Kyoto.
Sanjo TsubameDescription: A young employee at the Akabeko, Sanjo Tsubame becomes rather close to Yahiko during his tenure at the restaurant and eventually becomes closer to all of the Kenshin-gumi as she slowly becomes Yahiko's sweetheart. A timid, kindhearted girl by nature, Tsubame is often rattled by the goings-on surrounding her new friends but begins to play a supporting role as time goes on. Her family were servants of Nagaoka Mikio who forced her to steal before Yahiko stopped him. After the explosion of the Akabeko restaurant, Tsubame lived in the Kamiya Dojo. After the first night of the Jinchuu, she was worried, because Kenshin didn't come back. She also thought Kaoru and Himura deserve to live together and happy. By the series epilogue, she is saved from a group of Yakuzas by Yahiko. She invites him to lunch as a reward for saving her.
Tsukayama YutaroWeapons: Shinai, Boken, Katana
Description: Tsukayama Yutaro is the son of an ex-samurai katana dealer and the young ward of Isurugi Raijuta. After becoming acquainted with Myojin Yahiko and the others at the Kamiya Dojo, Yutaro begins to doubt his master's plans for the future of kenjutsu. However, Raijuta's negligence and lack of concern for his young adherent costs the young man the use of his right arm and very nearly deprives him of the ability to wield a sword. Yutaro was taught little to no techniques by Raijuta. He instead studied the Kamiya Kasshin-Ryu along with Yahiko, managing to catch up to him in just ten days. Yutaro goes to Germany for medical treatment and returns to Japan having learned fencing.
