The Zodiacs In Hunter X Hunter

The Zodiacs or Zodiac Twelve is a group of twelve Hunters whose skills have been recognized by Chairman Isaac Netero. The original formation consisted of the Vice-Chairman of the Hunter Association and 11 Staff Advisors. Currently, the Chairman herself is part of the Zodiacs. The Zodiacs act as the chairman's counselors. They each have a codename associated with one of the Chinese zodiac signs.

Ging Freecss 

Ging is the father of Gon Freecss. He is a Double-Star Ruins Hunter, and a former Zodiac with the codename Boar. During his time as a Zodiac, Ging's authority in the Hunter Association was inferior only to those of the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman. Even after quitting the group, he still has access to all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter. His abilities are yet to be fully revealed, but being part of the Zodiacs, a Double-Star Hunter who can qualify for a Triple-Star License, Ging is bound to be extremely proficient in Nen.

• Remote Punch (Emission): Ging punches a surface nearby and emits his aura in a line from the point of impact to a specific location a few meters ahead. A wormhole-like circle is generated from which a fist emerges, stretching far beyond the length of a normal arm to strike the target.
• Ultrasound (Emission): Using his hands to examine the body, Ging can release his aura in pulses around an area like an ultrasound to detect other organisms within it or, potentially, abnormalities in the human body.
• Phasing Bullets (Emission): By laying his hands on a surface, Ging can shoot a projectile of aura from each that quickly travels through the obstacle without damaging it, instead hitting whatever is on the other side.

Pariston Hill 

Pariston is a Triple-Star Hunter and both the former 13th Chairman and 12th Vice Chairman of the Hunter Association. He is also a former member of the Zodiacs with the codename Rat. He is known for his wide, cheerful smiles. Unlike many of the other members of the Zodiacs, he does not change his appearance to look like the animal that he represents. Instead, Pariston is always seen wearing luxurious suits and ties. During his time as the Vice Chairman of the Hunter Association, Pariston's authority was second only to that of the Chairman, outranking even his fellow Zodiacs.

Cheadle Yorkshire 

Cheadle is a Triple-Star Disease Hunter and a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Dog. She is the 14th and current Chairman of Hunter Association, as well as a member of the Science Team created in preparation for the expedition to the Dark Continent. As the Chairman of the Hunter Association, Cheadle has the highest authority among all Hunters, as well as access to all the annexed privileges. Her combat and Nen abilities have yet to be revealed but since, as a Zodiac, she must be a competent and most likely powerful Nen user.

Cluck 

Cluck is a Botanical Hunter and a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Chicken. She is also part of the Flora/Fauna Team, created in preparation for the voyage to the Dark Continent. Cluck's Nen abilities have yet to be fully revealed, but she demonstrated to be capable of controlling pigeons. She must be very proficient in Nen, since she used them to deliver communications to every Hunter, making it more than 600 messengers.

Pyon 

Pyon is a Paleograph Hunter and a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Rabbit. She is part of the Intelligence Team, created in preparation for the voyage to the Dark Continent. She seems to be the most tech-savvy of the Zodiacs, as she is mostly seen texting on her cell phone or using her laptop even during important meetings. Her authority in the Hunter Association is among the highest. Pyon is multi-lingual and proficient in both ancient and modern languages. She also displays her skill as a programmer by developing a language analysis software.

Kanzai 

Kanzai is a Treasure Hunter and member of the Zodiacs under the codename Tiger. He is part of the Defense Team, created in preparation for the voyage to the Dark Continent. He is very short-tempered and is always seen arguing with those around him. He is also often impulsive, but can also be quite humorous. He is ignorant about information even a child would know. Being a member of the Zodiacs, Kanzai has a high level of authority in the Hunter Association.

Saiyu 

Saiyu is a Blacklist Hunter and a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Monkey. He is part of the Defense Team, created in preparation for the voyage to the Dark Continent. He wears a headband, most likely a reference to the Monkey King Sun Wukong from the Chinese classic Journey to the West. He is characterized by directness in manner and speech. He is not afraid of saying unkind or rude things. Being a Zodiac, Saiyu is one of the best Hunters, and his authority in the Hunter Association is inferior only to Cheadle's.

• Priest Staff (Conjuration): Saiyu's weapon of choice is a conjured staff. He can change its length at will.
• Three Monkeys (Unknown): Saiyu's Nen ability allows him to use three monkeys: Mizaru, Kikizaru, and Iwazaru. If their attacks connect, the opponent is deprived of sight, hearing, and speech. Once the target is weakened, Saiyu finishes them off with his staff.

Ginta 

Ginta is a Poacher Hunter and a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Sheep. He is also part of the Flora/Fauna Team, created in preparation for the voyage to the Dark Continent. Ginta seems to be a short-tempered and extremely emotional man. He is the only member who cries over the death of Chairman Netero. Being a member of the Zodiacs, he is a capable and powerful Hunter. His authority in the Hunter Association is among the highest. He is also very fast despite his size.

Gel 

Gel is a Poison Hunter and a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Snake. She is also part of the Science Team, created in preparation for the voyage to the Dark Continent. Gel normally appears calm and reflective. She is also quite a reasonable person. As a Poison Hunter, she is knowledgeable in chemistry, biology, and medicine. Gel's Nen ability has yet to be revealed, but she demonstrated the ability to seemingly transform her arm into a snake.

Mizaistom Nana 

Mizaistom is a Double-Star Crime Hunter and a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Ox or Cow. He is part of the Intelligence Team, created in preparation for the voyage to the Dark Continent. He is a silent observer, who thinks always before acting. He is also analytical and displays an above-average intellect. Being one of the Zodiacs and a Double-Star Hunter, Mizaistom is considered one of the best Hunters. Aside from his qualification as a Hunter, he is also a lawyer, and thus knowledgeable in jurisprudence.
Cross Game (Unknown): Mizaistom shows his target a yellow card with an exclamation mark on one side and issues a warning. If the target ignores it, Mizaistom flips the card on the other side, which has a cross, stating "Restraint". The target is thus encased in a squared parallele piped that prevents them from moving.

Botobai Gigante 

Botobai is a Triple-Star Terrorist Hunter and also the eldest member of the Zodiacs with the codename Dragon. He is part of the Defense Team, created in preparation for the voyage to the Dark Continent. Botobai is a collected man who is fiercely loyal to Netero. He rarely loses his temper and favors cooperation among the Zodiacs for the success of the mission. As a Triple-Star Terrorist Hunter, Botobai has assets and information unavailable even to pro Hunters. His powers are still unknown but since he is the most senior member in the Zodiacs it can be presumed that he is extremely skilled in Nen. It is also said that he is the one closest to being chairman.

Saccho Kobayakawa 

Saccho is a Double-Star Problem Hunter and a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Horse. He is part of the Intelligence Team, created in preparation for the voyage to the Dark Continent. He is a calm and collected man. Being part of the Zodiacs, Saccho is one of the best Hunters in the world. His contributions have allowed him to become a Double-Star Problem Hunter. As a Hunter, Saccho is shown to be quite versatile that besides being a swordsman, he is also intellectually reliable.
