Applicant Of 287th Hunter Exam In Hunter X Hunter

The Hunter Exam is a yearly event which an applicant must pass in order to become a Hunter, an elite member of humanity and a part of the Hunter Association. These exams consist of several tests and stages which can vary drastically. Thus far, 289 Hunter Exams have taken place. The Head of the Exam Commission is the Chairman of the Hunter Association themselves.

The Approved Applicants

Hanzo 
Hanzo is a Cloud-Hidden style jonin from Jappon. During the 287th Hunter Exam, he was applicant #294 and decided to become a Hunter in order to find the elusive Hermit's Scroll. He is currently one of the bodyguards of Prince Marayam Hui Guo Rou. Hanzo has all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter. He is seen as a very fast and powerful fighter. His training as a shinobi was described as being extremely rigorous, but thanks to it he successfully became a master of the Cloud-Hidden style of ninjutsu.
  • Hanzo Skill 4 (Conjuration & Manipulation): Hanzo can project a double of himself which can phase through matter and hover in the air. His consciousness leaves his body while he uses this ability, which is put in a state similar to sleep.

Pokkle 
Pokkle was examinee #53 during the 287th Hunter Exam, which was his second attempt at the Hunter Exam. He later became a Hunter of Fantastic Beasts. Pokkle had all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter. He proved to be an accomplished archer, which, together with his use of paralyzing arrows and skills in stealth. His Nen ability is called Rainbow which can transmute his aura into seven differently colored arrows, each has its own attribute.
  • Red Arrow (Emission & Transmutation): Red Arrows burst into flame on contact, causing Pokkle's target to catch fire.
  • Orange Arrow (Emission & Transmutation): Orange Arrows have the highest speed.

Illumi Zoldyck (Gittarackur) 
Illumi is the eldest child of Silva and Kikyo Zoldyck. During the 287th Hunter Exam, he appeared under the guise of Gittarackur. At Hisoka's request, Illumi joins the Phantom Troupe as Uvogin's replacement, becoming Troupe member #11. He has all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter. Furthermore, as a member of the Zoldyck Family, he has vast wealth and capable underlings at his disposal. Thanks to his training, he possesses rare abilities such as strong resistance to poison, high tolerance to electricity, great agility and physical strength, and advanced armed and unarmed combat techniques.

Gon Freecss 
Gon Freecss is a Rookie Hunter and the son of Ging Freecss. Finding his father is Gon's motivation in becoming a Hunter. He has all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter. He was often praised for his powers of observation, agility, and stamina. In battle, he thinks quickly for any alternative solutions and strategies. His most remarkable quality, however, is the bottomless potential he is gifted with. His Nen ability was called Jajanken.

Leorio Paradinight 
Leorio Paradinight is a Rookie Hunter and a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Boar. He is currently a medical student, with a goal to become a doctor. As a member of the Zodiacs, Leorio's authority exceeds that of most Hunters. His charisma conquered a great number of Hunters and his great popularity is also the reason he was selected as a Staff Advisor. However, Leorio's actual fighting skills are unknown.

Kurapika 
Kurapika is the last survivor of the Kurta Clan. He is a Blacklist Hunter and the current leader of the organization founded by Light Nostrade. He is a member of the Zodiacs with the codename Rat. His goal is to avenge his clan and recover the remaining Scarlet Eyes. He has all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter. As a Zodiac, his authority in the Hunter Association is inferior only to that of the chairman herself. Being Light Nostrade's right-hand man, he had power over the clan and is now the boss of Light's new organization. The weapon that he conjures is a unique one-five chains that extend from each finger on his right hand.

Hisoka Morow 
Hisoka Morow is a Hunter and former member #4 of the Phantom Troupe; his physical strength ranked third in the group. He is always in search for strong opponents, and would spare those who have great potential in order for them to get strong enough to actually challenge him. He has all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter. His tremendous physical abilities and combat skill make him extremely dangerous in a bout, and his expertise in Nen, tactical genius, and flexibility allow him to swiftly adapt to changes in circumstances. Hisoka is also a skilled magician and often uses Nen to perform his tricks.

Failed Applicants

Killua Zoldyck 
Killua Zoldyck is the third child of Silva and Kikyo Zoldyck and the heir of the Zoldyck Family, until he runs away from home and becomes a Rookie Hunter. As a member of the Zoldyck Family, he has vast wealth at his disposal. He has been trained since birth to become a human weapon and is recognized by his family to be the most talented assassin in the entire history of the Zoldycks. He developed a series of Nen abilities in which he alters the properties of his aura to make it similar to electricity.

Bodoro 
Bodoro was a martial artist and examinee #191 during the 287th Hunter Exam. He was capable enough to reach the Final Phase of the notoriously difficult Hunter Exam. As a martial artist, Bodoro is bound to be proficient at some form of combat, presumably involving his spear and shield, although he fought in the last trial barehanded.

Ponzu 
Ponzu was one of the 24 examinees that managed to enter the Fourth Phase of the 287th Hunter Exam. She was examinee #246 in the 287th Hunter Exam and #233 in the 288th Hunter Exam. Ponzu's primary weapons are traps using chemicals, but she has shown to use also other means of combat. She carries a beehive underneath her hat from which the bees emerge to attack her enemies when she is threatened.

Bourbon 
Bourbon, also known as the "Snake Charmer", was candidate #103 in the 287th Hunter Exam. Bourbon is able to control a large number of snakes and force them to do his bidding. They will follow his orders even while he sleeps, or after his death.

Kenmi 
Kenmi is examinee #362 in the 287th Hunter Exam and he was a participant in the 288th Hunter Exam. Kenmi manages to reach the fourth phase of the 287th Hunter Exam, which is a manhunt on Zevil Island, but is eliminated when Hanzo takes his badge.

Amori 
Amori is the oldest of the Amori Brothers. He was examinee #197 in the 287th Hunter Exam and #127 in the 288th Hunter Exam. Amori and his brothers have attempted the Hunter Exams multiple times before the 287th session, improving their teamwork each time.

Imori 
Imori is the youngest and weakest among the Amori Brothers. He was examinee #198 in the 287th Hunter Exam and #128 in the 288th Hunter Exam. Imori and his brothers have attempted the Hunter Exams multiple times before the 287th session, improving their teamwork each time.

Umori 
Umori is the sturdiest of the Amori Brothers. He was examinee #199 in the 287th Hunter Exam and #129 in the 288th Hunter Exam. Umori and his brothers have attempted the Hunter Exams multiple times before the 287th session, improving their teamwork each time.

Geretta 
Geretta was examinee #384 in the 287th Hunter Exam and a blowgun expert. He was a highly-skilled candidate during the Hunter Exam, having reached the Third Phase. He is remarkably accurate with his blowgun.

Agon 
Agon was examinee #281 in the 287th Hunter Exam. Not much is known about Agon's personality, but he displayed an intrepid and adamant attitude when confronting a blood-lust induced Hisoka. He was a left-handed fencer.

Siper 
Siper was a participant in the 287th Hunter Exam and one of its few female contestants. She was examinee #80. Siper was a capable contestant, having reached the Third Phase of the Hunter Exam before being killed by Illumi. Siper proved to be a capable marksman, and to be able to target Illumi without being discovered until she opened fire.

Goz 
Goz was examinee #371 in the 287th Hunter Exam. Goz was a capable contestant during the Hunter Exam, having reached the Third Phase before being killed by Illumi. Aside from his fighting abilities, Goz was adept at stealth.

Tonpa 
Tonpa is the self-proclaimed Rookie Crusher of the Hunter Exam. Tonpa is examinee #16 in the 287th Hunter Exam and examinee #36 in the 288th Hunter Exam. Tonpa's performance in the Hunter Exams is rather impressive, and he would have already passed it if that were his real objective. Combining his intuition and skills in deceit with great survival skills, Tonpa has managed to survive more than thirty Hunter Exams, which cause the death of many applicants every year.

Sommy 
Sommy is an examinee during the 287th Hunter Exam number #118. He travels everywhere with his trained monkey. He is a sly man and is not against using tricks to achieve his goals.

Shishito 
Shishito was applicant #89 in the 287th Hunter Exam. He is a tall man with shoulder-length black hair. He sports a green long-sleeved shirt with a brown vest over it.

Ryu 
Ryu was examinee #34 in the 287th Hunter Exam. Not much is known about Ryu's fighting style, but going off the sword he's always seen carrying around, it may be inferred he is a swordsman. Having passed the First Phase of the Hunter Exam, he is sure to have above-average stamina.

Cherry 
Cherry was examinee #76 in the 287th Hunter Exam and a martial arts expert. He although when put into a serious life-threatening situation like facing Hisoka, had a stoic demeanor and obviously knew when he's outmatched by someone of a higher caliber

Kyu
Kyu is examinee #105 in the 287th Hunter Exam. He is also an examinee in the 288th Hunter Exam. Not much is known about Kyu's personality, but, before he was attacked by Pokkle, he seemed to be anxious and aware that he was being targeted; when Pokkle revealed himself he acted rather confident that he'd win against him.

Todo
Todo is a wrestler who aspired to become a Blacklist Hunter. He was examinee #255 in the 287th Hunter Exam and a participant in 288th Hunter Exam. Not much is known of Todo's past, except that he has participated in the Hunter Exam at least once before, as Tonpa recognizes him from before.

Nicholas
Nicholas is a young prodigy who excels in school and annual competitions and was examinee #187 in the 287th Hunter Exam. Having managed to find the Hunter Exam's location, Nicholas demonstrated that he is quite capable physically and mentally. However, his skills and aptitudes weren't good enough for the actual exam.

Unit 9 is one of the police force in Active Raid anime. The members of this team are: Kyoukai Sama  As a mechanic and operator of Unit 9, he handles decisions. In some cases, He also conducts on-site surveys. Like Kyoukai, they are dispatched from the association, but they do not seem to know each other's names. He is also in charge of narration for Unit 9 commercials. He also uses the pseudonym " Owashi Joe ". Asami Kazari A new member in Unit 8, she was assigned to monitor Unit 8 due to their bad reputation, and possibly to take steps in improving their activities. Due to their collateral damage of city infrastructure, Unit 8 has a bad reputation within the police force and public media.
