The Abyssal Ones In Claymore

Abyssal Ones is the title given to some of the Awakened Beings who were formerly No.1 Claymores during their times in the Organization. Until Clare's generation, there were three Abyssal Ones: Isley of the Northern Lands, Luciela of the Southern Lands and Riful of the Western Lands. Each one had their titles because of the lands they commanded. Isley is the leader of Alphonse, Luciela of Mucha, and Riful of Lautrec. During the Claymores' Rebellion, three new Abyssals were born: The Elegant Hysteria, Cassandra the Dust-Eater, and Roxanne of Love and Hate.

The Abyssal Ones

Empress Riful of the West 

Riful was the first generation and Claymore No.1 of the first all-female generation. She was the youngest warrior to reach the peak of her abilities and Awaken. She then became the Abyssal One of the West, also known as "Riful of the West" and "Empress Riful." She lived in the western region of Lautrec with her partner, Dauf. As an Abyssal One, Riful's body consists of thousands of fleshy strips of ribbons. These ribbons are Riful's main form of offense and defense; sharp enough to pierce through most and durable enough to protect her from attacks. In addition, Riful appears to be capable of controlling her size and relocate where her internal organs are located to protect herself from attacks.

White Silver King Isley of the North 

Isley was Claymore No.1 from the first generation of Claymores, at a time when male warriors were still being created. He Awakened at some point and became the Abyssal One of the North. After defeating Luciela, he also gained control of the South. He was called the White Silver King. Isley's most notable ability was to shape shift his arms into various weapons. He has been seen using his arms in the form of a lance, bow, shield, claw, axe, and a massive broadsword. When using his arm as a bow, he could simultaneously fire a small barrage of organic arrows, each of which could change their direction to land on their targets. Even in human form, his arrows are powerful enough to destroy huge mountains. Despite being in massive form, Isley's incredible speed easily outclassed other Awakened being and it was noted that his Yoki was even greater than that of Riful, which would make Isley the most powerful of the three Abyssal Ones.

The Failed Experiment Luciela of the South 

Luciela was Claymore No.1 of her generation. Her sister, Rafaela, was No.2 at the time. During an experiment by the Organization, she fully Awakened and became the Abyssal One of the South. The Organization gave her the name The Failed Experiment. Being a former No.1, Luciela possesses a considerable amount of power. Her most notable weapons are her claws and her two large tails, each with multiple mouths containing large fangs. These mouths allow her to intercept any attack. In her Awakened form, those mouths can also manifest anywhere on her body, nullifying any ranged attacks against her.Further evidence of her power is shown that in her battle against Isley,as seen as she was powerful enough to completely destroy and ravage the surrounding landscape, even in her human form.

The New Abyssal Ones

Cassandra the Dust Eater 

Cassandra was Claymore No.1 during her generation and is one of the eight most powerful No. 1 Claymores of all time. During her lifetime, she became known as Cassandra the Dust Eater, a nickname to describe her unique fighting style. Her Awakened form is a large humanoid form supported by tentacles which help her stand up as she has no arms or no head. Her torso is joined with her humanoid form. Cassandra is able to performs an attack with multiple tentacles that are continually spun blindly around her body, completely slicing up everything surrounding her at incredible speed. It is assumed that this attack has great velocity and force, as none of the high tier Awakened Beings surrounding Cassandra's body are able to dodge or avoid this attack, many of which are quickly beheaded.

Roxanne of Love and Hate 

Roxanne was Claymore No. 1 of her generation, and one of the eight most powerful No. 1 warriors of all time. During her lifetime, she became known as Roxanne of Love and Hate due to her volatile relationships with fellow warriors and her troublesome behavior. As an Abyssal One, Roxanne possesses tremendous yoki. Her main weapons are her bladed appendages, capable of moving at incredible speed and effortlessly cutting through solid earth. The blades may also be fired as high-speed projectiles. By launching them from several arms simultaneously, she can cover a much larger area, making evasion extremely difficult. Her major disadvantage is that her blades take time to regenerate.

Hysteria‎‎ the Elegant 

Hysteria was Claymore No.1 during her generation, and one of the eight most powerful No. 1 Claymores of all time. She became known as Hysteria the Elegant for her swift fighting style and the Elegance, her special technique renowned for its exceptional beauty. As an Abyssal One, Hysteria has been shown to possess a tremendous amount of Yoki and her speed is her greatest asset. By using her wings, Hysteria also gains the ability of flight. The blades protruding from her spherical waist can be used as high-velocity projectiles as well. They are attached by a thin cord to the main body, giving her the same amount of maneuverability she has on the ground.

Possible Abyssal Ones

Black Alicia

Alicia is Claymore No. 1 of both Clare and Clarice's generations. With her twin sister, Beth, the twins are a successful attempt at "Soul Link," an Organization experiment to produce controllable Awakened Beings.

Black Beth

Beth was Alicia's twin sister, Claymore No.2 of both Claire and Clarice's generations, and equal in strength to her twin sister Alicia. Beth was successfully able to "Soul Link" with her twin sister, Alicia, to produce controllable Awakened Beings.

Rosemary

Rosemary was originally ranked No.1 until Teresa took on that number, at which time she was demoted to No. 2. As an Awakened former No.1, she technically had the qualifications to be an Abyssal One as she likely possessed great power, though she was never officially recognized as such due to her defeat by Teresa.

Europa the Lazy
Europa was a single-digit Claymore of her generation and eventually became an awakened being. She was among the group of awakened former single-digit warriors who gathered outside Rabona to witness the being whose power surpasses the Abyssal Ones.

Miata

Claymore No. 4 of the present generation. She is known as "Blood Eye" by her peers. Her powers lie in her keen senses and brute strength. She is extremely powerful despite being a child, and even has the potential of becoming No. 1.

Beyond Abyssal Ones

Priscilla

Priscilla was Claymore No. 2 of Teresa's generation. Initially assigned to assassinate Teresa with her fellow Claymores, Irene, Noel, and Sophia, she went beyond her limits and Awakened. Possessing tremendous power and regenerative capabilities, far beyond that of even the Abyssal Ones, she was the primary antagonist of the series.

The Destroyer
The Destroyer is a term used to refer to the merged bodies of Luciela and Rafaela, accidentally Awakened by Clare. Its actual form is that of a large, dark, tar-like mass of Yoki capable of shifting into various forms and absorbing the life out of anything it touches.

Resurrected Riful of the West
A creature resembling Riful of the West both in appearance and yoki energy with traces of Dauf in skin and abilities, like a child of some sort of theirs.

Teresa of the Faint Smile

After Clare understands Rafaela's final message, she "awakens", transforming into Teresa and allowing Teresa to take control. Even at only 10%-30% of her yoma power, Teresa overpowers the fully-restored Priscilla. However, Priscilla regenerates more powerful replacements. Ultimately, Teresa decides to awaken. Teresa has become the first controllable Awakened Being to go Beyond Abyssal Ones.
