7 Blurry Concepts Of Wolf's Rain

Wolf's Rain was a popular anime which attracted my attention several years ago. Watching this anime is entertaining but somehow I do not really think some concepts are well-defined. Let's discuss 7 blurry things in this series. Here you go!

Wolves
According to an old legend, when the end of the world comes, a place known as Paradise will appear. However, only wolves will know how to find it. Although wolves are believed to have been hunted to extinction nearly two hundred years ago, they still exist, surviving by casting illusions over themselves to make them appear human. The unexplained thing is where the power of these wolves comes from. It is never explained and the story just goes on till the end.

Paradise
Paradise is the final goal and a mysterious, hidden destination on Earth that the wolves are trying to find. This place is always surrounded by constant mystery and is only partially revealed in any of its features. Different scenes during the anime show the mysterious Paradise as a beautiful, meadow-like place with lakes, tall trees, snow-topped mountains and is carpeted with many Lunar Flowers which fail to explain why it is exist from the first place.

Lunar Flower
Lunar Flower is a species of flower that is said to be the guiding light for those who seek the place known as Paradise. There are two known uses for the Lunar Flower: As a guide to the door of Paradise and an ingredient that is infused and utilized in various ways. However, when the paradise fails giving a big picture of itself, lunar flower comes into a big question as well.

Book of The Moon
The book originally belonged to wolves, but it was then taken from them by the house lords. The house lords banned the Book of the Moon for their own usage only, due to its contents that contain the knowledge of wolves, humans and opening the gates of Paradise. Its contents described the wolves, the land of Paradise, the rare Lunar Flowers, Cheza the Flower Maiden, several legends that includes the origins of humans turning into wolves and the red moon. This book is actually exist to solve all mysteries. Unfortunately, only a brief description was given throughout the series.

Nobles
The nobles are people of various levels of wealth and influence. There have been many families of nobility throughout the world of Wolf's Rain. One of the most influential families is the Darcia family who hid the secret of paradise from everyone, even kept it from the audience as they do not really understand this secret.

Stone
The stone, made using the nobles knowledge of alchemy, was used by Lord Darcia III to revive the wolf within himself in order to enter Paradise. The stone appears to have various uses including to force open a fake version of Paradise and to reawaken the wolf within the body. This part do not solve the mysteries mentioned above but rather adding a new blurry mystery of human who has wolf essence within their body.

Paradise Disease
The strange and mysterious condition known as Paradise Sickness is believed to be a curse laid upon the Darcia-clan. The sickness is said to suck away the soul, leaving nothing but an empty shell. Lady Hamona is shown to be in a vegetative-state; appearing as though awake but unresponsive to any stimulus. The body can be maintained, though the afflicted never seem to regain awareness. While, Lord Darcia III's symptom is different in that his right eye was permanently changed into a wolf's eye. It is unknown why this symptom occurs or what the full spectrum of symptoms for Paradise Sickness are.
