7 DDS Privileges In Detective School Q

Detective School Q is the story of a group of young students from Class Q of Dan Detective School (DDS), a prestigious and renowned detective academy founded by Morihiko Dan, the most famous detective in Japan. Studying at DDS is not easy as the lessons and school life are quite challenging. But the school indeed gives several privileges for students who pass the test. Here are 7 privileges obtained by students who has officially registered at DDS:

Access of Class Rank
After being passed the school tests, students of DDS are divided into classes based on their scoring. Initially, there are 4 classes ranging from A, B, C, and D with class A as the superior one. In fact, there is another class introduced as Class Q, in which most students think as the lowest class. It is then revealed that class Q is the 'Qualified' class which has highest probability for substituting Dan Morihiko in the future. However, the class system includes promotion and demotion, which means the students with decreasing performance will be moved to lower class and those with improving performance may get the chance to enter Class Q.

Access of Teamwork
Students in each class are usually given the unsolved cases which require teamwork in solving the mysteries. Though some of them prefers to work alone, it is always certain that the case will be easily resolved with the help of different unique skill of each student. This system of work seems a bit odd if being compared on how the real detective works in quiet situation.

Access of Diorama Case Field
The school grants students the access to Miniature objects which represents the real case field before coming to the crime scene. The Miniature is set exactly the same with the scene even with the small items in its surroundings. By seeing this, the students are expected to obtain clues in short amount of time.

Access to Guns & Weapons
It is said that the students of DDS are allowed to keep guns and weapons even if they are still in primary or high School. It is also stated that DDS is the only one school that implements this policy in order to ensure students' safety. However, the anime did not show or mention it again other than in the first episode.

Access of Investigation
Students are given DDS Notebook which contains many tools to assist the investigation. There are gloves, chemical substance, finger print tool, and others stored in that notebook. Students also have access to the scene of crime by police if they show their notebook, much like how police badge works. As for the civilians, students may investigate them by showing the notebook as well. This is due to the popularity of school and figure of Dan Morihiko. Aside from DDS notebook, students are given a watch that is functioned as tracker and other usefulness.

Access to Police Department
Police department are often asked DDS to help them in their investigation. This grants the students the easy access to the confidential information that only police has. Though many police have doubt in their capabilities due to their young appearance, the students never fail in acquiring the information and eventually solve the case.

Access to Life & Death Situation
The real access that DDS offers to its students is the experience of life and death. By solving every case and interact with murders or suspect, students are prone to danger as it will threaten their life. But, usually the students are well-prepared and there is no other choice in the first place. As stated by Kyu, A Detective must never give up or the case will remain unsolved.
